Mirko Casu
Clinical Psychologist, PhD Student in Computer Science @ University of Catania
I'm a clinical psychologist and a PhD student in Computer Science at the University of Catania, where I work on the SAMOTHRACE project and am a member of IPLab's Multimedia Security & Forensics group. I'm interested in autoregressive and diffusion language models, AI agents, and the interlink between these systems and psychology, mental health, and human safety.
I was also a visiting PhD researcher at EPFL in Lausanne, under the supervision of Prof. Andrea Cavallaro in the MINTS lab, from the 1st of October, 2025 to the 31st of March, 2026.
Before starting my PhD, I trained in psychology, earning a bachelor's degree in Psychological Science from the University of Sassari and a master's degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Catania.
Outside research, I also enjoy photography and gaming.
